Volunteer Opportunities

Here's how you can get involved!

In The Gardens:  Spring, summer, fall, even in winter, there is much to do – weeding, mulching, planting, fertilizing, pruning, dividing… the list goes on!

In The Gift Shop:  Whether you would like to bring us your retail experience or learn while you are here, our Gift Shop needs you to assist our guests in finding that perfect memento of their visit with us.

As a Docent:  We will help you learn the history of Miramont to assist our guests in understanding the legacy of the Castle, perhaps giving tours, perhaps pointing out the treasures of a specific room, or perhaps roll playing the part of a 19th century servant, demonstrating how difficult life once was.  

For Special Events: The annual Victorian Easter Egg Hunt, Emma Crawford’s Wake, and lavish Victorian Christmas are some of the events which you might help us to host.  Other projects are in the development stage, and we would value your ideas!

Inventorying and Archiving: Use your computer skills to train on Past Perfect 5.0 museum archival software, entering donations and loans to the museum and creating relevant documentation.

Photography: With your digital camera and computer skills, photograph objects gifted or loaned to the museum and enter them into Past Perfect 5.0 archival sofware.

Numerous Other Areas:  Do you have a talent, a skill, or an interest you would like to pursue which would benefit Miramont Castle?  We may need musicians, seamstresses, housekeepers, information technologists, web designers, promoters, restorationists, teachers, genealogists, historians and YOU!
